Creating Good Work Summit and Practicum

The two and one-half day Creating Good Work Summit and Practicum is a collaborative approach designed to positively impact the productivity and effectiveness of Social Entrepreneurial leaders in all sectors of the population.

Driven by the ground-breaking ideas and applications put forth in the Creating Good Work – The World’s Leading Social Entrepreneurs Help Build a Healthy Economy book, (Palgrave- USA, 2013) the program utilizes the wisdom, expertise, guidance and facilitation of the CGW Federation Faculty, composed of contributors from that original work.

These highly interactive sessions can only accommodate 100 Social Entrepreneurs per summit gathering. They will be held regionally around the United States and Western Europe on a first-come-first served basis. The Summit and Practicum will be an opportunity to meet and network, but will primarily focus on interactive collaborations. The complete two and a half-day schedule is detailed below.

The Practicum itself will be divided into five sessions, and participants will be collected into cohorts of 10, made up of 9 participants and 1 CGW Federation Faculty member. Each participant will remain in their cohort on Day One and then be reshuffled into new cohorts on Day Two.

The five sessions address issues of:

  • Vision
  • Organization and Culture
  • Process
  • Resources and Finances
  • Goals

Each participant will go through all five sessions, bringing the challenges they are encountering within their own organizations to the table, while also helping to discover solutions to the issues their fellow participants face. In doing so, they will call both on the expertise of our Federation Faculty as well as share in the collected wisdom of their professional colleagues. These collaborative sessions will be fully facilitated by trained faculty moderators who will make sure that the solutions that emerge are captured and preserved, the documentation of which will provide a basis for on-going follow-up implementation sessions.

The CGW Summit and Practicum is not about speech making or endless hours being spoken to or at. Rather it is an interactive collaborative experience, designed solely to discover solutions and benefit the work we are all doing within our communities.
